I brought in my grandmother's Seiko that hadn't been worn in years. They looked at it, explained what was inside, and asked before ordering any parts. The whole process was patient — I never felt rushed, and the watch now runs better than I can remember.

The crystal on my daily watch had been scratched for months and the crown was stiff. Aroon Dial fitted a new crystal, sorted the crown, and resealed everything. Good communication throughout — they messaged when the part arrived and again when it was ready. Took about two weeks total.

I'd been putting off a service on my husband's watch for too long. They gave me an honest condition note — one issue was more significant than I'd expected, but they explained the options clearly and didn't push me toward the more expensive one. Appreciated the straightforwardness.

My father's Swiss watch needed a complete restoration. The written plan they prepared before starting was very thorough — it outlined everything they proposed, with costs, and they checked each stage with me. The result is wonderful. It's exactly as it should be.

Routine service on a watch I wear every day. The turnaround was about three weeks, which is longer than some places quote, but I'd rather wait and have it done properly. Keeping steadier time now and the crown feels much smoother.

I contacted them before driving to Bangkok just to ask whether my watch was worth restoring. They asked me to send photos and gave a thoughtful response within a day. That kind of care before I'd even brought it in told me a lot about how they'd handle the actual work. Very satisfied.

In More Detail

Three Repairs, From Start to Finish

A closer look at how three different jobs unfolded — the starting point, what we did, and what the owner found at collection.

The Starting Point

1960s Japanese Movement — Not Run in Years

An owner brought in a vintage Japanese watch inherited from an uncle. It hadn't been wound or worn in at least fifteen years. The movement was stiff and wouldn't run at all. The crystal was heavily scratched and the crown felt gritty when turned.

What We Did

We opened the movement and found dried lubricant throughout. A full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and fresh lubrication was required. We also replaced the crystal with a mineral glass match and restored the crown. The case was resealed and tested. A written plan was agreed before any parts were ordered.

Duration: 5 weeks · Service: Vintage Restoration

The Outcome

The watch now runs within acceptable vintage tolerances and winds smoothly. The crystal looks presentable again without losing the original character of the case. The owner mentioned they'd been uncertain whether to attempt the restoration at all — and were very glad they did.

"I wasn't sure it was worth it. Now I wear it every week."

The Starting Point

Swiss Automatic — Running Slow and Losing Time

A well-used Swiss automatic that had been gaining and losing time inconsistently. The owner wore it daily and had noticed it was running noticeably slow over the previous six months. No visible damage to the crystal or case.

What We Did

The movement was overdue for a service. We cleaned, lubricated, and regulated the movement. The condition note flagged a slightly worn mainspring that wasn't causing problems yet but would benefit from attention at the next service. The owner chose to defer that for now — a decision we supported.

Duration: 3 weeks · Service: Service & Lubrication

The Outcome

Timekeeping returned to within a few seconds per day — a significant improvement from the previous behaviour. The service warranty covers the work done, and the owner now has a note on the condition to revisit in a few years.

"Good to know what was going on inside and what to expect next."

The Starting Point

Acrylic Crystal — Cracked After a Knock

The owner knocked their watch against a door frame and cracked the acrylic crystal. The watch was still running but the crown had also become loose after the impact. They wanted it looking sound again but weren't interested in a full service.

What We Did

We sourced an appropriate acrylic crystal and replaced it. The crown tube was tightened and the crown reset. The case was resealed and checked for resistance. Parts were confirmed before ordering, and the work was completed once the owner had approved the cost.

Duration: 10 days · Service: Crystal & Crown Repair

The Outcome

The watch was collected looking and feeling as it should — clear crystal, a crown that winds and sets smoothly, and a case that's properly sealed. A straightforward repair done carefully.

"Exactly what I needed, nothing more. Sorted quickly and reasonably."
