Tending Watches on Yaowarat Road
Aroon Dial takes its name from the Thai word for dawn — a quiet, unhurried beginning. The workshop opened on Yaowarat Road in Bangkok's Samphanthawong district, a neighbourhood with a long history of careful craft and trade. We felt at home here from the start.
Our work covers three main areas: routine service and lubrication for everyday wearers, crystal and crown repairs for watches that have picked up wear, and complete vintage restoration for pieces that carry real history. Each job comes to us in its own condition, with its own story, and we try to respond to that rather than follow a fixed script.
We work with both common and uncommon calibres — Swiss, Japanese, and various vintage movements — and we're straightforward about what we can and can't do. If a piece needs a specialist beyond our scope, we'll say so.

Aroon has been working with movements for over two decades, with a particular focus on vintage calibres. He established the workshop to offer the kind of careful, unhurried service he felt was becoming rare.
Nattaya Khamwong
Repair Technician
Nattaya handles crystal and crown repairs and assists with servicing. She's known in the workshop for methodical attention to detail and a calm approach to tricky cases.

Somchai is the first person you'll speak with, whether by phone or in the workshop. He ensures owners understand every step and feel comfortable with the process from drop-off to collection.
How We Work
Our Standards and Protocols
Written Assessments
Every watch receives a written condition note before work begins. For vintage restorations, this becomes a full written plan agreed with the owner.
Quality Lubricants
We use industry-standard watch lubricants appropriate for each calibre and component. The right oil in the right place makes a measurable difference to long-term performance.
Service Warranty
Servicing and lubrication work includes a written warranty. We stand behind the work we do and welcome owners back if something needs revisiting.
Water Resistance Testing
Where a case design allows resealing, we test resistance appropriately after crystal and crown work. This is confirmed with the owner as part of the repair scope.
Data Privacy
Contact details and repair records are kept securely and used only to manage your repair or contact you about it. We don't share personal information with third parties.
Realistic Timelines
We give honest timeframe estimates and update owners if something changes. We'd rather tell you a repair will take longer than promise a date we can't keep.

Watch Care That Respects the Piece and the Person
A mechanical watch is a small, intricate thing. The tolerances inside a movement are measured in fractions of a millimetre, and the oils that keep it running smoothly break down over years of use. Regular servicing isn't about chasing a problem — it's about tending something before it reaches one.
At Aroon Dial, we work with watches that range from well-worn everyday pieces to inherited movements that haven't been opened in decades. Each one requires a fresh assessment. A calibre we've seen many times can still surprise us; a vintage movement we've never encountered before might be straightforward. We try not to approach any repair with assumptions.
Our workshop on Yaowarat Road sits in one of Bangkok's most historically significant trading districts. The neighbourhood has long attracted craftspeople and collectors, and we feel that context in the variety of pieces that come through the door. Watches from across Asia and Europe, spanning much of the twentieth century, arrive here for attention.
We believe good repair work is, in a small way, a form of conservation. Keeping a watch running well reduces the need to replace it. Restoring a vintage piece carefully means it can be worn and enjoyed again rather than sitting in a drawer. These feel like worthwhile outcomes, and they shape how we approach every job we take on.
